One Lens – Three Technologies

Smith Venture

Where snow falls, you follow. On summit bids or high-speed descents, the Smith Venture sunglasses provide much-needed eye protection in alpine environments. They’re our take on glacier glasses, with removable side shields that protect against light reflecting off snow, rock and ice. ChromaPop™ lens technology offers a terrain-boosting view of every wind drift and crevasse. Autolock hinges make for easy on and off when one of your hands is occupied with an ice axe or ski poles. Smith’s most versatile performance lenses that uses photochromic technology to adapt dynamically to varying light conditions. This UV and visible light activated Glacier Photochromic lens is less temperature sensitive than a traditional photochromic lens with a light transmission range of 45% to 7%. This lens shifts from a low light copper base tint to dark gray with a specially formulated blue mirror coating.
