Wild #186 is on sale now

Get set for a WIld Summer!

The warm days are here, and so too is Wild #186. It’s an awesome issue, full of summery goodness, and we thought we’d give a sneak peek of what’s coming up. There’ll be fabulous features on paddling in the Kimberley, canyoning in Wollemi, walking in the Brindabellas, climbing Tassie’s Frenchmans Cap, and highlining in WA’s Stirling Ranges. Beau Miles has a rollicking, thoughtful feature in the issue, too, on trail running Victoria’s McMillans Track, and the violent legacy of the man the track is named after. There’s also a destination piece on packrafting in New Zealand’s South Island’s West Coast; a guide to five of the best walks in Wilson’s Prom; along with track notes by the legendary John Chapman on the South Island’s spectacular Gillespie and Rabbit Passes. Oh, and while it’s summer down here, in the northern hemisphere, winter is on its way, and so we’ve got a spectacular photo essay on backcountry skiing in British Columbia along Canada’s ‘Powder Highway’.

Beyond adventure though, we’ve got an excellent profile by Megan Holbeck on Justin and Lauren Jones; an evocative piece on wildlife monitoring in Sturt NP; a story on the quest to rediscover an almost completely forgotten historic route across the Kosciuszko High Country. And of course there’ll be our regular sections with tips for getting started, opinions from our columnists, and environmental news in the Green Pages.

The issue is on sale now, and you can pick it up at retailers or online at https://adventure-shop.com.au/collections/magazines/products/wild-edition-186.
