Scarpa Arpia are a simple and sensitive intermediate-performance shoe hitting the sweet spot between comfort and performance. Designed for a climber not yet ready to feel like a geisha binding their feet into an aggressive downturn position, but ready to commit to that next level of climbing performance that requires more formidable footwear.
Scarpa Arpia features a mildly asymmetric and moderately aggressive downturn, providing necessary power for technical climbs without compromising comfort. The 1.5mm thick midsole supports standing on small edges while still being flexible enough for smearing or pulling on steeper routes. The V-tension Active Rand delivers incredible support, while conserving energy for a full day on the wall and the full length flexible talon midsole wraps around the back of the heel for hooking ability.
The addition of single Z-style hook-and-loop strap closure allows for easy fit adjustments as well as a locked-in fit required on more technical routes and boulders. For the outsole, the Arpia uses the sticky Vibram XS Grip2 compound that has a proven track record on outdoor and indoor rock, ensuring you feel confident on the wall at all times.
