Recently we published Dan Slater’s review of an insulated jacket from Carinthia, but it turns out that the item may not be available for much longer.

Having seen the review, Premier Defence Agency’s Damien Ewin (who manages Carinthia’s Australian distribution) passed the article back to Carinthia’s European offices. They returned with the unfortunate news that the product will not be included in the brand’s 2016 catalogue.

Ewin this morning sent through the following statement, which contains a small glimmer of hope for anyone looking to procure some of the final stock:

“We’d like to thank Dan for his long term test and review, however we got some both sad (and happy) news when we passed this on to CARINTHIA. Sadly, we are informed that this jacket will not be in the 2016 product line, but on a happy note, both the factory and ourselves have stock and we have been offered a discount that we have passed on.

“The discounted produce is currently available at www.carinthia.com.au.

“We agree with Dan that this is a costly item, however in durability and performance it represents very good value over the years of service it will provide.”

Having a look at the Carinthia website, it appears the jacket has been marked down from its original price of $659.95 to $494.95 – certainly worth a look for anyone in the market for this kind of apparel.
