44,877 km, 13 pairs of shoes, more than 30 countries explored

In November 2015, at 32 years old, French woman Blandine Barthélemy sold all her possessions, quit her job and apartment and bought a scooter. Three years later, Barthélemy has traversed Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and is now on her way to Australia.

Solo and self-supported, Barthélemy lives simply and sleeps in the wild, relentlessly fighting the physical and mental challenges of long term exploration while travelling completely alone. Pushing 30 kilograms of gear and supplies (including her home), Barthélemy has experienced all the seasons and climates on her journey across the globe, including:

  • Gibraltar to Nordkapp (the European northernmost point)
  • Cross Iran and its Great Salt Desert
  • Kicked the Pamir Highway in winter (the second highest highway in the world, with night temperatures dropping to -25C
  • Cross the Taklamakan “Desert of no return” (Xinjian, China)
  • Kicked and climbed through the high Tibetan plateau

Barthélemy is now heading to Australia. You can check out more at:
